You can turn a lighting zone on outside its normal schedule for a health inspection, a contractor visit, or after-hours work.
Important: the override expires on its own
Lighting overrides in eViewIoT are a bypass, not a permanent change. Each zone has a Bypass Time, and 60 minutes is the standard setting. When the bypass expires, the zone returns to its schedule and the lights go off.
If you need lights on for longer than an hour, either re-apply the bypass before it runs out, or contact support to have the Bypass Time raised for that zone.
Turning a zone on
- Log into retail.eviewiot.com or open the eViewIoT app.
- Open the Lighting tab.
- Find the zone you need. A yellow bulb means the zone is on. A blue bulb means it is off.
- Click the bulb to start the bypass. The bulb turns yellow.
- Click it again to end the bypass early and return the zone to its schedule.
Lighting control requires Manager access or above. On the Staff role the bulbs are display only.
Checking the Bypass Time for your zones
Go to Settings, then choose Lighting from the dropdown. Each zone lists its Bypass Time in minutes.
If you cannot reach the app
There is a manual override inside the Lighting Control Panel. This turns on all lights and holds them on with no timer until you reverse it.
- Locate the Lighting Control Panel. It is usually near the breaker panels. If you do not see it, check above the ceiling grid. It carries a Small Box Energy or eView sticker.
- Loosen the four screws and slide the cover up to remove it.
- Find the black tab inside the panel and flip it open using the tab provided.
- All lights are now on and will stay on until the black piece is closed again.
- Close it when you are done. Unlike the bypass in the app, this override does not time out. Leaving it open runs every zone around the clock.
